Obama Told He Must Kick His Blackberry Habit

For a variety of reasons, President-elect Barack Obama has been told that during his Presidency he must not use his Blackberry. A recent New York Times article called "Lose the BlackBerry? Yes He Can, Maybe", reported that in the interest of compliance with the Presidential Records Act as well as security, Obama, an avid Blackberry user, intends to break his habit cold-turkey when he assumes the office in January.

What a refreshing approach to the business of the White House - an Administration taking measures to ensure the integrity of the public record rather than finding ways to bypass it. Compare this viewpoint to the Bush Administration who dismantled the e-mail archiving system installed by his predecessor's staff and Governor Sarah Palin who is allegedly claiming Executive Privilege to justify using her Blackberry.
If he can quit smoking, surely he can break his Crackberry habit. Yes, he can!

Hi Spence, I thought it might be worth sharing that there are several products available that ensure that BlackBerry PIN & SMS messages are also archived just like email.

We recommend Retain for BlackBerry which can integrate directly with all major email archiving solutions. Problem solved!
